Transformational Leadership is a leadership style that is backed by over 50 years of research and practice. This topic includes covers the Five “I’s” of Transformational Leadership – Individual Consideration, Idealized Influence, Intellectual Stimulation, Inspirational Motivation, and Innovation. I’ll walk the audience through an experience that changed my life – leading Marines in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan.
When our backs are against the wall, we all default to our core functions as human beings. As leaders, when we are responsible for leading a team through stress, we fall back to the same idea. Contingency leadership is all about having a plan for when the stuff hits the fan, but in order to have the best plan possible, we have to know a few very important things. 1) Know what we are fighting for (Culture, Mission, Vision). 2) We have to know the strengths and weaknesses of our team and use these to our advantage in times of professional crisis. Here, we will walk the group through how to create a solid culture through vision and mission casting. Culture truly does eat strategy for breakfast.
Through the Storm, Legacy Building and Impactful Mentorship:
The Buffalo, or the American Bison, is an amazing creature. When typical herd animals sense a storm coming, they either seek shelter or run in the opposite direction. Not the Buffalo. The Buffalo gathers its herd and charges through the storm, coming out on the other side faster and with the herd intact.
